Community Development

We actively promote programs intended to enhance the health, education and social economic wellbeing of the communities located near our mines. We work with local non-governmental organizations to develop farming and fishing industries, which provide economic independence to the local communities near our mines. We also support infrastructure programs, including building roads, bridges, schools, health clinics, water and electricity facilities, mosques and churches near our mines and support a number of medical programs for the eradication of tropical diseases, such as malaria and dengue fever. Through our education programs, we also provide scholarships to deserving students and teachers from the communities and schools near our mines.

A proactive community development program is in place to promote schooling, employment, health services, produce farming, electricity and water supplies, religious institutions and other needs. We respect the local religious festivals and offer suitable benefits to our employees. Our employees are also enrolled into the Manpower Social Security Programme that covers working accident security, retirement security and health security. We implement similar programs at our new projects.
