Two Subsidiaries of PT Bayan Resources Tbk get the ISO certificate are:

• ISO 9001:2008

• ISO 14001:2004

• OHSAS 18001:2007

Jakarta, September 15, 2009 - PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) is pleased to announce that its PT Dermaga Perkasapratama (DPP) and PT Perkasa Inakakerta (PIK) coal mine have been certified integrated management system is :

 

1. ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Systems,
2. ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems and
3. OHSAS 18001:2007 Health and Safety Management Systems.

Those certificates were issued by DQS GmbH certificate consultant on 10 August 2009 for DPP and PIK on 28 August 2009.

The objective is to continually ensure that Bayan’s processes follow international management best practices. In line with ISO 9001 dealing with Quality Management Systems, enhancing Bayan’s environmental performance through ISO 14001 is the next logical step. The company is able to formulate policies regarding environmental objectives over and above not only taking into account legislative requirements but all information pertaining to significant environmental issues. Achieving OHSAS 18001 certifications at BCT and PIK validate the company’s core values and sustainability initiatives with regards to the employees’ health, safety and well-being. This reinforces how Bayan continues to adhere to the highest standards for safe and healthy workplace conditions. “Receiving the certifications affirms that we have established and implemented systems that are based on best practices. We are fully committed in protecting the environment, the health and safety of our employees and improving our overall quality management.
